I've ended up creating backlog folders that are basically a 1:1 mapping of my channels. I'd really like Folders and Channels to have tighter integrations:
- I'd like folders to have a default channel. If tasks assigned to a folder don't already have a channel, they should get the folder's default channel.
- I think I'd like multiple channels to be able to have the same folder - so that if a task in that channel is put on the backlog, it goes into the linked folder. I'm less sure if this makes sense.
- I'd like channels to have a "create folder" checkbox/button. For me, I'd want that on by default; I imagine other people would prefer it off by default. For most of my channels, I'd just tick that box, a matching folder would appear, that's all I need. If it doesn't make sense to have multiple channels point to the same folder, this might be the only setting that's needed (replacing the "default channel" idea above)
- I'd find it annoying that the Folders are a flat list. I'd like them to be grouped into Contexts just like channels. In fact, I think I want exactly the same contexts..
