Weekly Product Changelog: October 5, 2026
Added
- Sunny reads your connected tools: Sunny can now look through your connected accounts right in chat and turn what it finds into Sunsama tasks. That covers Gmail, Slack, Jira, GitHub, Linear, Google Tasks, Todoist, Trello, Notion, ClickUp, monday.com, and Microsoft 365 (Outlook mail, To Do, and Planner).
- Turn a subtask into its own task with Sunny: Ask Sunny to promote a subtask to a full task. It keeps its time estimate and tracked time, and you can undo it in one step.
- Remove old Jira connections: You can now remove an old Jira connection without reconnecting to Jira first.
- Resume a stopped Sunny reply: When you stop a Sunny response, the chat marks it as stopped. Say "please continue" and Sunny picks up where it left off.
- Jump to today from a link: A sunsama://today link opens the desktop app on today, and a plain sunsama:// link brings the app to the front.
Improved
- Tracked-time editor: Time entries are now grouped by subtask. When you move an entry to another day, the calendar follows it.
- Searchable time zone picker: The time zone picker in Settings now has a search box, suggests your device's time zone, and lists common zones first.
- Shorter MCP tool names: MCP tool names are now capped at 40 characters so they still fit after gateways add their prefixes. Three tools were renamed, so update any tool allowlists that used the old names.
- Account deletion removes AI data: Deleting your account or workspace now also deletes your Sunny conversations and AI feedback.
Fixed
- Event calendar changes stick: Moving an event to a different calendar no longer snaps it back to the original one.
- Search no longer hides some of your tasks: With "Hide planning tasks" turned on, search no longer hides tasks whose titles contain words like "day," "plan," or "daily."
- Stopping Sunny works properly: After you hit stop, nothing else comes through. Sending a new message after stopping no longer erases the work Sunny had already done.
- Undo for Sunny objective changes: When Sunny creates or edits a weekly objective, you now get the same undo receipt as for every other change it makes.
- Sunny chat no longer crashes on tables: A reply with a table or other formatting the chat can't display now shows as readable text instead of crashing the app.
- Imported tasks stay imported: A task you import from an integration panel now disappears from the panel right away and no longer comes back a few seconds later.
- Desktop reconnects on its own: After losing the network, the desktop app now reconnects by itself instead of getting stuck on "Unable to connect."
- Cmd+Shift+A during startup: Pressing Cmd+Shift+A while the desktop app is starting no longer covers the screen with an invisible window that blocks every click.
- Changing your time zone: Changing your time zone no longer times out and leaves recurring tasks a day off.
- Dragging tasks: Dragging a task no longer fails with an error when the task disappears in the middle of the drag.
- Desktop sign-in behind a VPN or proxy: Signing in to the desktop app from a work network behind a VPN or security proxy now works. If something still blocks it, the app tells you what to do instead of showing a generic error.
- Google Focus time events: These now always show as non-blocking. Before, they had a blocking toggle that did nothing.
- Multi-day all-day events via MCP: Assistants can now create multi-day all-day events, and moving one keeps its full length instead of shrinking it to one day.
- Profile photos for Microsoft sign-ups: People who signed up with Microsoft now see their profile photo thumbnails.
