Backdate Objective Start

Objectives have been useful, but I've noticed recently that I've had a few tasks that at the time weren't part of a larger objective, but now are (e.g. I had been to a couple of meetings about an event, but then ended up taking on the planning of that event, which became an objective).
At the moment, I cannot locate a way to add items from weeks previous to where the objective is created, although you can extend the objective forward.
Being able to add past tasks to a newer objective would be useful (and work with some of the other suggestions about longer term objectives).

I agree with this. I'd also like objectives to be separate from weekly planning (or at least have the option to), as my objectives are rarely accomplished within a week and are more likely to span several weeks, months, or even quarters. It's annoying extending objectives week after week and can feel a bit like failure to continuously have to extend (even if there was no real way to complete everything within a week, and it's the framework of 'weekly objectives' I'm having to adapt and work with).
I guess ultimately I'd like objectives to be like mega-tasks, not limited to a specific week, but as overarching goals/projects that continue until marked complete. I know it's possible to use channels to designate different projects, but I use channels in a specific way already to help with timesheeting, so I can't/don't want to mess with that
