Create multiple backlogs or folders/sections in backlog
Millan Singh
I would love to be able to create multiple backlogs where I could sort different kinds of tasks into. This would allow me to use Sunsama completely standalone, being able to manage a large backlog without it getting unorganized and overcrowded. I don't want to have to track longer-term stuff in Trello or Todoist or some other app.

Alex Cunningham are you able to tell me if this is something the Sunsama team are working on or actively considering? This is a really big one for me…

I can’t integrate my work systems with Sunsama because of security controls, so to make it worthwhile I really need to be able to manage all my backlog tasks in Sunsama. Otherwise I’m just juggling 2 systems

Rebecca C: Hey Rebecca, we alluded to this in our October newsletter, but yes in 2025 we do plan to take a look at this and generally overhauling the backlog experience. No timeline on this yet, but it will be a priority.

More Organization within Backlog!
Liz Cook
I would really like to be able to use backlog for a master collection of all my to do list tasks but it gets overwhelming and disorganized! Can use #categories but still looks messy. Ideally, if we could make a task and then have multiple subtasks underneath it as we can now, BUT be able to drag just the subtasks into our daily planning lists (ie not the entire overarching project, just the subtask). Ex. Backlog item: "Apply for new job" with subtasks 1. Complete Resume/CV 2. Complete online application. 3. Send follow up email, and then be able to just pull "Complete resume" into my daily to do list, and then "Follow up email" onto another day's to do list.

This! Please please please. I think the way Ellie does it is PERFECT.

A Kanban view can help me focus only on Sunsama and leave Notion task management. Having it can be a moat against Notion Calendar, which should integrate both calendar and task management into one ecosystem (Notion). Having a slightly better task management with a kanban view and swimming lanes can reinforce your value prop and raise competitive advantage over Morgen, Routine, and Motion. Having this would bring me back to Sunsama.

Rodrigo Campos Paiva, YES!! THIS! i Would love this.

Task Brain Dump
Ashlee Alexander
If you could create a space to add all tasks that need to be completed and then those tasked to be sorted into do now, tomorrow, next week, this month, someday etc. This would help stop tasks that need to be done but not imminently being archived and allow you to be able to see all workload tasks needing to be complete.
Alex Cunningham
Hey Ashlee Alexander, it sounds like you're looking for our Backlog feature: https://help.sunsama.com/docs/backlog but also want it to be a bit more organized. I'll merge this thread with another!

This should be bundled with the goblin.tools integration because they have a great brain dump feature and the integration is pretty highly upvoted

Same! Such a great idea!

Yes, I think this is a great idea!

Task Storage / Tasks on Hold
Lee Turner
Id love the ability to create custom storage folders or buckets, kind of like an advanced backlog. I have tasks that are completed but are then put on hold or on client approval for instance. So the ability to categories and store these tasks would be amazing.
For me at least, this would negate the need for a 3rd party to do list.
