I would like to have them hidden by default and then right-click for the option to show them

Collapsed view that hides subtasks

It would be helpful to be able to collapse a task card for a more condensed view (to hide all the subtasks and just leave the primary description visible). Similar to Todoist that I can see more or less with an arrow on the far left next to the task title. This would help me be able to see how many primary tasks I have at a quick glance, because right now all the subtasks push the content below the fold and I can't see everything at once.

Absolutly, especially when you work with a lot of subtasks. keyboard shortcut would be priceless!

Really like the clean view when the sub task is hidden like on my "triage" task. I just don't know how that happened, feels like magic! It's a recurring task with a one off subtask, not sure if that has anything to do with it. But I like it! It's just cleaner to look at and I don't want to be distracted by the detail of substasks until I'm ready to tackle them.

Nevermind, I found the magic. I guess this post is specific to having a global state, one off is good enough for me. Cheers.

Me too! Perhaps A simple right click or long-tap on the day header would do it... "Hide/Show all subtasks for today"
but I am very happy we can hide them individually.

Hide Subtasks switch in Kanban View
Jeremiah Moore
I find Subtasks a brilliant way to "braindump" details into an actionable space, but I usually DON'T want to think about them until I'm focusing.
Additionally, it's VERY cumbersome to edit the Kanban view when subtasks make the items so tall you can barely see more than one at a time on a laptop screen.
Obviously sometimes you DO want to focus so ideally the view should be switchable, possibly on a task level, or on a global level.
This screenshot demonstrates a full screen of subtasks: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uhf77vdhgpbu1y6/Screen%20Shot%202022-03-10%20at%209.04.47%20AM.png?dl=0
