Many people choose Sunsama because they struggle with time and planning. In my coaching work, I see how hard it is for knowledge workers to switch off. Sunsama already has a strong ritual for starting the day. Giving the end of the day the same level of support feels much-needed
Sunsama brings you into the day through the planning ritual. To use the app properly, you go through it. Nothing equivalent exists at the other end of the day. The shutdown ritual is there, but it's up to the user to find it, and for many of us, that's the hardest part.
My day usually ends with an interruption, leaving me disappointed about what I didn't finish. Since reflecting on what went well helps me end the day positively, and I feel your AI feature in the shutdown reflection is brilliant, it's a real shame I don't use it more.
What would help is more support getting to the shutdown before overwhelm sets in. For example:
  • A prompt that arrives and takes me into the shutdown ritual, rather than a small notification that's easy to miss.
  • A message I write myself, so the prompt reminds me in my own words why I'm stopping.
  • A fuller experience that's harder to skip, such as an optional full-screen mode.
I am currently looking at workarounds but it would be so much better if Sunsama could prompt and encourage me to shut down - a little friction goes a long way here.
