This has resurfaced for me. I might have turned the setting on for sometime on my Google Calendar settings. Since then, I'm not able to get this to honor the Gcal settings. I've tried reconfiguring after removing calendars, but no luck.
Maybe that's a cache issue? I'll try this again.
Edit: tried it again and it is resolved now. I might have been doing something incorrectly.

Sunsama now honors your Google Calendar settings for declined events. If you've opted to hide declined events in Gcal, they will now be hidden in Sunsama as well, automatically.

Matthias Klatt: Did that remove it from your Sunsama? Because I have that option set on all of my google calendars but they still show up on Sunsama
