Long term goals would be a great idea here..
Meabh Hayes
Yes 100% I came just to say this. I also think choosing the timeframe would be good. I also like quarters for the year too.

Yes! and a way to select from the list of objectives and batch extend them

Curious the status of this and annual goal setting Ashutosh Priyadarshy?
Ashutosh Priyadarshy
Jacob Moore: It's in the category of features that internally we believe are valuable and definitely worth adding and it's more of a matter of if and when we've got the engineering bandwidth to add it.

Ashutosh Priyadarshy: What do you think about changing the mental model from a weekly to any-long term objective? As an objective has a start and optional end date, I believe we can achieve the desired agility (month/quartal/year/life term) by implementing just two changes:
- on an objective view, the system can load & show only tasks related to the current week. This change even brings consistency, as at the bottom of an objective view, we can see stats per day for the current week, and it looks reasonable to see tasks only for the current week too.
- provide the ability to navigate an objective view to other weeks (by left/right arrows like we have in the objectives list area)
- other parts, like weekly retrospectives/stats, don't seem to require changes as we can finish some objectives or just reflect on time spent on them
- in the future (if somebody requires this), the system can provide the ability to see all tasks related to an objective somehow (like a separate view or CSV download or smth else)
As a result, these changes will not break habits for users with just one-week objectives and will bring power to users with long-term objectives. As it becomes easy to reflect on specific objective progress per week.

Agree - would love to set dated deadlines rather than just the week long feature. I would also love color coding - a small color bar that can visually show how many tasks within that objective I have plotted for the week!

I feel like, yearly, quarterly, and monthly are all things that I would like. The reason is that I love the way it handles weekly and I just want something that forces me to do that for the other periods of time.

In addition to being able to set an objective that is active for the month (or quarter or year), Please add the ability to go ahead and list out the tasks that need to be done to achieve that objective
on the objective
rather than having to create them on a particular day. It is really helpful to be able to divide an objective into manageable tasks that I can then choose to schedule each day / week. As it is, I don't use objectives all that much because when I'm planning my day, I'm not in the headspace to figure out what the next right thing to do on that objective is. If I had the tasks already subdivided I could look at the objective and pick the next thing that I have time to do today. As I'm thinking about it, I realize one way I could do this now is to create my objective subtasks in the backlog and then move them out as I can work on them. Seems a bit of a kludge, though.

Quarterly objectives, please!!!
Dave Bush
Yes, this needs to be a thing, I have work the recurs quarterly and I have a month to complete, being able to schedule and repeat monthly targets as well would be amazing!
