Monthly objectives and planning

As a Task is Added, the ability to Create a New Objective if there isn't a current objective created.

Perhaps a simple option is when you're in an objective, hit extend and it allows you to select the date or number of weeks. It's getting harder to click extend one week several times and incredibly frustrating if you hit it one time too many but can't reduce by a week, only extend.

why is this still not a thing? =(

Sunsama is my favourite planner so far. But I really would like to set longer term goals like monthly or quaterly objectives. It is the only only thing missing for me to plan my projects without using integrations. And this is really important in terms of productivity as i really dont like to open more than 1 planner.

While I would love a broader scope of yearly>quarterly>monthly planning, MVP for me would to just add the ability to select the end date of an objective. That would allow me to manage the goals I've set for myself in my other planning in the format currently available in Sunsama without hitting "extend" 52 times per objective.

I would absolutely use this. I have created a workaround to add my annual goals as "weekly" objectives that have been extended 52 times, but it would work much better to prompt thinking about what I am aiming to achieve annually, how that would need to be broken down into quarters or months, then weeks, then days and have the right steps then populate on your task list automatically. I majorly struggle with awareness and planning for anything that's more than a day away so I have previously found myself looking at my annual goals for the first time in a year the week my annual review is due.

Yes this is the only important thing I think is missing in Sunsama. Even just having monthly goals as a simple list you can refer to when planning weekly/daily would be helpful.

I would love to see this feature introduced.
At first, I didn't use the weekly objectives, but, as I use Sunsama more and more, I also find myself using the weekly objectives. It seems to help me focus on chunky objectives that might span weeks/months and is recurring but at somewhat random time intervals.
Having a hierarchy that can go something like:
Yearly Objectives/Goals >> Quarterly Objectives/Goals >> Monthly Objectives/Goals >> Weekly Objectives/Goals >> Tasks
would be awesome for a top down approach to long, medium and short term planning, in addition to the tasks that make it all happen.

Brad Hawkins: YES!! This is the #1 on my wish list! Hope this feature is added!

Brad Hawkins:A must have feature and should be added, it will definitely make this an all inclusive solution from a planning perspective

Brad Hawkins: Completely agree!

@Ashutosh Priyadarshy - enhancing the analytics features would be amazing (including longer term goals).
The current summary card shows day break downs (in the context of weekly planning makes sense).
Having a total time spend on objective would be great (with the extended periods). For consultants, these objectives or initiatives often run for multiple weeks and having reporting when finishing the objective would be great!
Keep up the amazing work

I love the idea of monthly and quarterly goals so that I don't have to lose time extending weekly goals.
In terms of UX, it would be very helpful to visualize my monthly objectives along with my tasks and my calendar. Currently, only two panels are visible, but for me to make the most out of my objectives, I should be able to have them visible at all times.
So, in summary, the three panels I would always have open are:
1/ Tasks
2/ Objectives
3/ Calendar view
