move task to tomorrow (follow-up)
Tim Kranich
What?
When right clicking on a task I would also like to have the ability to move it to the next day.
Why?
While working on tasks it can happen that they are done for the first iteration, but they are blocked and cannot be completed. I would like to move them to the next day instead of checking them and create a new task for the next day.
And when moving them to Backlog they can be overseen during planning.

Hey Tim Kranich, is there a reason you aren't able to drag the task to the next day? Know also, that you can hit
D
on your keyboard to move a task to tomorrow quickly.Tim Kranich
Alex Cunningham: Hey Alex and thanks for the question/your reply.
It might be a wrong assumption and will probably no interfere with the statistics in the end. However, here are my thoughts on this:
- I am mainly working in focus mode, where I am not able to just drag the task to the next day. Instead, I have to open the task and click on the start date and change it to tomorrow. -> Here the right click option would be perfect
- I have the feeling, that task will not be considered during my evening reflection of the day, if I change the start date to tomorrow. Again, I can be wrong here, but something feels unnatural for me doing it like that.
Hope I could clarify my points and again thanks for asking.

And probably an additional thought:
I might be done with this task for today, but just want to circle back to it (call somebody again and check on the status etc).
From your perspective: should I then just create a new task, or move the existing one to tomorrow?
Because I would like to check it of, because I am done for today, and then be reminded a day later. Similar to recurring tasks but without any schedule and manually triggered

Tim Kranich: Hey Tim, thanks for your replies.
It sounds like you want to be able to move a task you're currently in focus mode on to tomorrow, is that right? If so, correct you do need to exit focus mode to do this.
As for dealing with tasks that are not totally done today, or you want to follow up on tomorrow, there are a few approaches to take. If you've worked on the task today (i.e. logged actual time), you can manually move the task to tomorrow or just wait until tomorrow when the task rolls over. You'll still have a record of having worked on it the previous day. Here's more tips for multi-day tasks: https://help.sunsama.com/docs/dealing-with-multi-day-tasks

Alex Cunningham: Thanks again for your reply. I think we pretty much covered it. However, I will watch if everything works/is logged as expected and might circle back to this topic at another time.
Thanks also for the help article.
