This idea was inspired by a tool I saw. It forces you to input an intention before you can use your computer. literally locking the device until you decide what your session is for. Kinda like it.
Here is a quick walkthrough of how it works: https://youtu.be/u-NMyDVrcOg. So I'd love to see a 'Performance Mode' in Sunsama with similar mechanics.
Concept:
  1. You open your laptop → Sunsama launches automatically, fullscreen
  2. You’re asked: “What’s your focus?”
  3. You can’t proceed to the desktop or any apps until you choose focus
Important here: Prevent skipping/closing without input. You need to select a Focus.
Why this matters:
  • Adds a conscious barrier between stimulus (open laptop) and reaction (scroll/email/YouTube)
  • Sets immediate clarity and purpose for deep work
  • Pairs beautifully with Sunsama’s intention-first philosophy and help users develop even stronger focus habits
Optional & opt-in, of course. But for power users, it could be a serious upgrade in mental performance.
