Pin Tasks to prevent auto-rescheduling
Aaron Wainman
I really love the new auto adjustment features that have been added. However, some of my daily tasks need to be completed at the same time each day. Would it be possible to add a pin to the task to keep it from auto rescheduling when there is overlap, or when a task is completed early and the other tasks shift back in the calendar?

The option to pin a note (generic card that is not a task) would also be great!

Disable auto scheduling for some tasks

I have tasks that I don't want them to be shifted around in my schedule when I finish another task earlier than expected (for example a doctor's appointment)

Lock tasks

It would be great to be able to lock certain tasks so that they don't get moved around the calendar as the day shifts. Like, I have a recurring task for things like checking in on PR's + I want to have that as a task but once I decide where in the day I need to do it, I want to be able to lock it so that if other tasks shift that doesn't get shifted. I do not want to make it a calendar event though because I need the flexibility of a task.

Omgsh yes! This would be so helpful! I don't really use the auto-scheduler currently because I have tasks that need to be "pinned" like this

Lock tasks in Calendar (Keep certain tasks from being moved automatically))

Calendar automation doesn't recognise that certain tasks need to happen at a certain time. we need the ability to lock start/end time in calendar, so that the automation won't move them around if earlier tasks take longer than expected.

This is huge as it will enable people to really truly timeblock and make more much more efficient and effective planning processes and workflow

Is this up for consideration? I think it's a great idea. I guess you can just delete the task and make it an event, but a simple pin feature for tasks that have been dragged on to the calendar would be a much better UX.

Lock a task to a specific time
John Gibson
I have a few tasks I would love to schedule and have locked at a specific time when planning my day so that as I finish earlier tasks ahead of the planned time, Sunsama will automatically adjust my tasks but not move the tasks locked to a specific time. For example, let's say I have planned to write social media posts from 8 am to 10, then to work on some client projects from 10 until noon. Then I have client meetings from noon until 5 pm that are on my calendar. But at 6 pm I have another task that is unrelated to work so it is something I don't want to work on during the day. My plan is to work on the two projects from 8 am until noon and if I finish them early I will grab some other tasks I have in my task bank and pull them onto my workday. At the moment, if I finish my social media posts an hour early, the client projects task will move down to begin immediatly (I love this feature) but the task I have set at 6 pm also moves down to fill the empty space. Now I need to reset the time for the non-work related task.
Being able to toggle whether a task is flexible or needs to be at a specific time will be helpful. At the moment I go to my calendar and create a new appointment with the same name as the task and then delete the task so that it doesn't move.

Fix a task at a point in time
Mike Le Galloudec
I'd like to be able to fix a task to a time on the calendar once it's on there. Sometimes I have tasks that have to be executed at certain times of the day, and these are not repeating tasks so they cannot be made as calendar events easily. I'd like the other tasks to move around the fixed one once I've attached it to a time.
