When scrolling forward or back though days, it's possible to end up in a in-between state in terms of which day is in the "today" or focused position. The smooth scroll effect is nice, but as far as I'm aware there's no reason I'd want to be in-between days. Having is coast to settle in on a day would be more helpful that letting it hang out in-between.
