Subtasks should be full tasks
Ashutosh Priyadarshy
Subtasks should link back to full rich tasks instead of just being text and a checkbox.
You should be able to snooze them to future days (just like normal tasks).
You should be able to drag specific sub-tasks into the calendar, and ideally this would add time to both the task and sub-task.
You should be able to assign them to other teammates.

Being able to schedule subtasks for different days would be very helpful.
Example use case: exchanging an online order item
- Request exchange
- Print shipping label
- Return item (may only be a 10 minute task, but might need to be done on a later date)
- Receive new item (multiple days later)

I know this feature is a big effort and in progress, but an easy win that would be helpful is to add subtasks to the daily slack post as nested bullets. I do this manually now to help my team know what I'm working on, which is especially helpful for working on large github issues, for example.

I like the way subtasks are now. They are steps to completion of another task. (I just wish they could be assigned to a different channel than the parent task, so time tracked on that subtask would count towards a different channel.)
Instead of increasing the scope of subtasks, why not create Epics? They would be like supertasks, and would contain other tasks (and their subtasks) within them. This way, normal tasks would act like full-fledged subtasks for the epics.

Fabio Bracht: That sounds a bit like objectives in Sunsama. Maybe they can be used for more?
Fabio Bracht
Lennart Reichstein: Yeah, that’s certainly a direction to go. I’m sure the team will flesh out Objectives more in time, seeing as they seem like the least developed feature currently.

As part of this it would be nice if we could assign tag labels to the individual subtasks too. An example would be if I have a repeating morning routine where some of the tasks are personal and some are work related. The routine overall is a personal task but i want the email check for example to be counted as work. Currently I can only do this by breaking my morning routine into main level tasks which clutters my agenda.

Drag subtasks onto calendar
Niels
Would be great that you could drag subtasks to your calendar as well when you plan your day. And that it takes the estimated time length. Currently you can only drag the entire task (some tasks have a total duration of 10 hours for me, but is broken into subtasks of 30 minutes). When you check of the subtask it should check off in the main task as well. Thanks!

Great suggestion, this is something we want to tackle in the future since it definitely improves the timeboxing capabilities of the app and makes it much more flexible.
Niels
Ashutosh Priyadarshy: thanks, any idea when we can expect this? Personally the most desired upcoming feature for me. Thanks keep up the good work!

Niels : No timeline for this feature yet. We'll update you when we start working on it. It's something we definitely do want to build though.

And it would be great to create subtasks from emails, ClickUp tasks, Jira etc., ideally via drag and drop...

fwiw, I totally disagree with this!
