A rest API would be perfect. I want to use locally developed artificial intelligence agents to organize my routine and without an API this is impossible. Unless I use RPA to do the automations, it's impossible.
That would be a big differentiator, because none of the UX competitors have APIs. For people who want to use a beautiful and organized calendar and are devs, this would make all the difference.

It seems worth thinking about this really as multiple potential features. A general, full-featured API to access and manipulate the entire data model of the app would be great, but is admittedly costly to build and adds extra barriers to the app's future evolution once people depend on a particular API.
A totally distinct thing that could be very useful and fitting with the spirit of Sunsama would be extensions/plugins to expose new
integration sources.
Some people have worked around this by e.g. replicating Things to a Trello board to allow Sunsama to see it, but if Sunsama allowed independent developers to define new ingestion sources that would be extremely useful, and likely far less of a large commitment than a full top-to-bottom first-class API for everything.S

+1 for this. I've been building my own personal Time Tracker with Lovable, and it would be awesome to develop an API integration so that I can bypass the CSV and just directly pipe in data from Sunsama.

I need to analyze my productivity & plan for longer periods like month, year, 5 years etc. Could you please add supporting features or Apis?

I agree with Robert below wholeheartedly, not having this available is going to start to be a huge business liability as LLMs and AI Agents become more and more popular.

I'd like to add, that with the advancements of MCP servers, this feature request has gone from a "nice to have" to a "must have" as MCP clients (specifically Claude Desktop) are deeply integrated into my workflow. Please re-consider.
It would also enable users to integrate and control their tasks via a single API, rather than separate apis for each integration.

I dont see a reason for that? why?

Yes please!

Please create the API. Not all wants to use Zapier :-)
