I would love this too! Many of my tasks are not really repetitive, but they still follow a very similar structure. E.g. working through an academic paper is the same schematic process about every time, with the same time expectation, according subtasks and so on. It would save me a lot of effort to be able to just create a new task from the category "academic paper", that already follows these criteria

This would be great! I have a set of subtasks for every new hire I have to onboard. Would love to have a template called New Hire Onboarding with all the subtasks already included and I can just create the task and add the new employee's name.

Yes, it's sometimes very helpful. For example, when I have to take a job interview of a new hire candidate, the life would be easier if I can just open the Templates pane from the right bar (in the same way as Backlog), find a job interview task template, right-click it and select "Copy to task" or drag-and-drop it onto a task column, and I can get a new job interview task on my day.

..but I just noticed the "Copy to task" context menu on Backlog items might be able to do the same role. 🤔

Would love to have a working similar like goals tab but that live eternally. Just could drag into the task list and get a copy of the template, including metadata, channel and subtasks.

I'd love this - it'd help a lot with things where details are important & steps are 100% predictable but easily forgotten because it's something I don't do that often.

Examples: setting up OOO, submitting expenses, monthly doctor's visits that require follow-up, etc.
