Timebox without updating Google Calendar
Cassie Barlow
I would love there to be an option to move tasks from the kanban to the calendar in order to block out times during the day to work on those tasks. I would like these to appear only in sunsuma and not in my actual google calendar.

Looking for this feature? Check out this workflow:
When you drag a task to the calendar, it automatically gets scheduled to your primary calendar. There's no way to not create tasks in the underlying calendar. However, there are a number of timeboxing settings you can use to control this.
If you don't want those tasks to end up on your primary calendar, there's a setting in your account settings that lets you change which calendar tasks get scheduled to: "Default calendar when scheduling tasks".
This is a great option if you don't want to clutter your primary work calendar with blocks where you are just working or don't want colleagues to see what tasks you are working on.

Can't these simply be configured to be non-busy/free tasks so they show up but don't actually affect third-party or collaborative scheduling?

I recently tried the daily planning exercise again and remembered why it doesn't work for me – I can't have random Sunsama tasks clogging up my work calendar that is viewable and shared with others at my organization.
It would be really great if there were a way to specify a separate Google calendar as my "Task Calendar" where tasks would be scheduled, or have the Task Calendar exist just on Sunsama, as the original poster suggested. Both calendars could be toggled on/off in the regular and planning screens.

I have a similar request but I want recurring tasks time blocked for the time I put in

Thanks, is the main thing you (and others) are looking for here the ability to not have working sessions show up in Google calendar?

Ashutosh Priyadarshy: Exactly! A lot of the items are much less formal.

Ashutosh Priyadarshy: yes, but also to keep the diary available for a meeting, whilst also allocating time blocks for the tasks in Sunsama in case the meeting time is not used
Alysa Buchanan
Agreed!

Seconded :)
