Apple calendar / iCal integration
Tressie R
I was really excited when I found out about Sunsama yesterday from a video by HowtoADHD on yt. As I was setting up Sunsama for the free trial, I asked the internet this exact question, ^ and it led me to this page. Please, Sunsama, please integrate with iCal! I find it much easier/intuitive to use, plus my family's events are on it, as others have mentioned. I will not be subscribing to Sunsama now because of this, but I am hopeful they will integrate iCal into their system soon and then I will happily purchase!

Holding me back from migrating also.

I like Sunsama, but it would have been nice not to have to migrate all my calendars into Google Calendar just to be able to use it.

Wow! Huge disappointment Sunsama. I'm testing this out and LOVING everything I can do with it but if I can't continue to use ical I won't be purchasing Sunsama. Does anyone know of a similar task planner that does include integration with Apple? Thanks!

Angel Jepsen Complete sadness - I was prepared to plunk down my money 'cause this thing is great!! But without the Apple Calendar integration, I can't use it. All of our family info is on iCloud and it's not moving. Bummer.

Angel Jepsen Fantastical works really well!
Anna Esen
Angel Jepsen same here. If I can't keep on using iCal I'm out :(. SAD
Angel Jepsen
Mac Feely my family is the same way. I don’t know how we got everywhere we needed to be before shared iCal, it’s not going anywhere. Hopefully Sunsama gets the message with everyone’s comments :) This is an awesome task manager, I finally felt like I controlled my work life instead of it controlling me.
Angel Jepsen
Elke Brenstein thank you! I’ll check that out! 😁
Angel Jepsen
Anna Esen agreed! I’m so bummed. So far I’m using it still for work which iOS Office 365 but I really want everything in one calendar. 🥲

You can download all of your current iCal calendars and import them into Google calendar, then delete all iCal calendars (this avoids duplication), and add your Google calendar account onto your iCal. Finally, integrate Google calendar to Sunsama and all three (iCal, Google, and Sunsama) will sync up!

Angela: Hey Angela, thanks for this workflow! To clarify, this is your recommendation for essentially moving away from iCal, correct? And once you do this, you can still "use" iCal, as long as the events you're creating are on your Google calendar, correct?
Angela
Alex Cunningham: Yes, it's a way I found to integrate iCal with Sunsama so everything preexisting in iCal can be transferred to Sunsama. With this, I am able to create events on either Sunsama, iCal, or Google Calendar and would be synced across all three platforms. So Google calendar is essentially used to integrate iCal into Sunsama if that makes sense.
Angela
I guess to completely move away from iCal, one could just not add Google Calendar into iCal, but since reminders from iCal is still easier for Apple Watch users this allows changes to be made anywhere on either of the 3 calendars to sync up. This was just a one time set up so hopefully it helps those who are using Sunsama and Apple/iCal reminders and Apple Watch.

PLEASE!!!! i wanted to use Sunsama but I dont want to move all my apple reminders over. with the upgrades to Apple reminders it is competitive to todoist and free so I think the customer base using tat app will only expande

I found a temporary solution - subscribe to ICal from Outlook - and then select it to display. It shows up in the planning screen.

I'd love this feature. I'd jump to Sunsama right now for this integration!

Yes please, it is much needed! I came to Sunsama because it sounded like an extraordinary tool to help with my time management as someone with ADHD. However not being able to connect it with ical where all my activities are already scheduled for the year meant having to reschedule them into Google or Outlook, requiring more time to get set up, therefore generating more time management problems than solutions. It is just a barrier to not have ical available because everything else about Sunsama sounds incredibly helpful.
