Hi Ren Yu, are you asking for Android or iOS? I believe Android already has this.

More iOS Widget Options

I'd love to see more options for the iOS widget. Currently, you can only see the current task displayed. It would be great to see a daily/weekly calendar view option, an "upcoming tasks" option with the next 5-10 tasks, an "add task" option, etc.

On Monday, version 1.7.0 will include new widgets for Android. Please let us know if there any other Android widgets you'd like to see. New iOS widgets are coming soon as well.

Thanks so much, Boy Callaars! I really like the new widgets. Would having the ability to resize them and have them scale (width-ways, smaller) be a possibility? As far as I can tell they are all minimum of 5 wide)
Would also love to be able to quick glance and see my daily % of completion and number of remaining tasks, eg like attached on desktop.
Finally - are the widgets able to refresh (and Sunsama itself) in the background? if a change is made on the desktop it doesn't appear to refresh on the widget (or indeed, the Android app itself) until that app is brought to focus again.

Rob Di Toro: I'll have to look into resizing the width. I did make them all that wide because otherwise I thought the layout feels a bit cramped, but maybe I can make it work. A quick glance widget sounds good, to be honest! I can't get that in quickly as iOS is the next one up, but I will make an effort after that to include a quick glance one.
The refreshing is a bit odd because it SHOULD definitely refresh in the background, but it's not instant, per se. Currently there's a background process that is being triggered every 15 minutes (which is the minimum). That one gets the new data and refreshes the widget, but it's ultimately up to Android to determine how often that process is being triggered. I'll look more into push notifications there, so that they are being triggered more often.
Thanks for the feedback!

In the upcoming releases I will make improvements on the widgets. I will make some more different types as well.

Boy Callaars Given that widget load times are sometimes delayed, perhaps making real-time lists not totally perfect, I feel like one of the biggest asks I’d have would be just a simple task quick-add home screen widget (similar to what Todoist has). Native Sunsama tasks being able to be added that easily would be a game changer!!!!
Boy Callaars
Cole I agree and this is something that will be added!

any ETA on this?

We'll be adding more widget types.

Boy Callaars Would love a quick-add widget for Android!
Boy Callaars
Rob Di Toro as in, with just an add button?
Rob Di Toro
Boy Callaars Yep! Just a small (1x1 -> 2x2) tile to add tasks would be fab. Maybe the ability to pre-set the category too, so you could, say, have one widget for #Personal and one for #Work ?
